Thixton’s Record Performance Nets A.I.I. and NCCAA Player of the Week Honors

College of the Ozarks Senior, Ryley Thixton (Ozark, MO), was announced as the Association of Independent Institutions Player of the Week, as well as the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the week after leading the Lady Cat Volleyball team to a five-set victory over Lyon College on Friday.  During the contest, Thixton tied the College of the Ozarks single game record for kills with 31 and added 22 digs.  She now shares the record with former Lady Cats Rachel St. Clair (97’) and Jennifer Nichols (09’).  Thixton, a 5’8 outside hitter and defensive specialist, was instrumental in lifting the Lady Cats to a 36-34 victory over the Scots in set two and continued her dominance throughout the match. The Lady Cats took the match 3-2 on Thixton’s record tying performance.

The next action for the Lady Cats will be Friday and Saturday, March 12-13 in the A.I.I. Classic hosted by Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois.
