Point Lookout, MO - In an intense Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball battle on Saturday, the College of the Ozarks Lady Cats held on for a win over the Oklahoma City University Stars with a final score of 3-2. The Lady Cats set the pace with a strong start, taking the first set 25-18. They continued their momentum into the second set, clinching it with a score of 25-22. However, the Stars fought back in the third set, narrowly winning 26-24 and turning the tides in the fourth set with a decisive 25-17 victory, pushing the match to a thrilling fifth and deciding set. The fifth set was close throughout with the Lady Cats clinging to a narrow lead. Pulling away at the end, the Lady Cats took the final set 15-10, and the match 3-2.
Key players for the Lady Cats included Bri Linehan with 18 kills, Anna Brunner with 14 kills and 4 blocks, and Cora Roweton contributing 15 kills and 3 blocks.
