Springfield, MO - In a challenging non-conference match held on Wednesday, the College of the Ozarks Lady Cats faced defeat against the Evangel Valor at AG Financial Arena in Springfield, MO. The regular season volleyball game concluded with Evangel claiming victory by 3 sets to 0 over the Lady Cats.
The match started close, with Evangel taking the first set 25-22. The Lady Cats couldn’t recover in the second, falling 25-21. They fought hard in the third set, but Evangel pulled out a 30-28 win to finish the match.
Key players for College of the Ozarks were Bri Linehan with 11 kills, Cora Roweton with 10, and Christa Duffel with 9. Duffel also added 3 blocks, while Kalli Noell had 4 and Brinley Watson 2. On defense, Gabby Bozzay led with 17 digs. Anna Howe helped at the service line with 2 aces.
The Lady Cat offense was boosted by Audrey Riley leading the way with 16 assists and Kamryn Link adding 15. They will take on Southwestern Christian University next on Friday, in Keeter Gym, looking to build on their 10-4 record.
