FORT WORTH, Texas — Logan Jones made two free throws in the final 30 seconds, and College of the Ozarks got a final defensive stop to beat Texas Wesleyan 61–60 in a SAC game Thursday night at the Sid Richardson Center.
The Lady Cats led most of the game with balanced scoring and strong rebounding but needed late free throws to seal the road win. Jones’ free throws with 28 seconds left gave College of the Ozarks a 61–58 lead. Texas Wesleyan’s Kameryn Phillips scored on a layup with 17 seconds remaining to cut the lead to one, but the Bobcats stopped the Rams on the final possession to secure the win.
Jones had a strong game with 22 points and 12 rebounds, including eight offensive rebounds. She also added three steals and a block while shooting 7-for-16 from the field and 3-for-6 from three-point range. Abigail McBride added 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists. She shot 4-for-7 from the floor and went 8-for-8 at the free-throw line in 37 minutes.

McBride later knocked down a three in the second quarter to give the Lady Cats a 31–22 lead, and College of the Ozarks went into halftime ahead 38–32.
The Lady Cats stayed in control in the third quarter, with Jones hitting another key shot to keep Texas Wesleyan from closing the gap. Her 3-pointer with 6:14 left made it 47–35, and College of the Ozarks led 54–44 going into the fourth quarter.
Texas Wesleyan made a late push, outscoring the Bobcats 16–7 in the final quarter, but College of the Ozarks had built enough of a lead and made free throws late to hold on. The Lady Cats will look to carry this momentum into their next SAC game against Nelson University on Saturday.
