Lady Cats Clip the Golden Eagles; Link Records 2,000th Career Assist

Point Lookout, MO - In a pivotal conference volleyball battle held on Wednesday, at the College of the Ozarks, the Lady Cats defeated the Golden Eagles of John Brown University with a final score of 3-1.

The Lady Cats started strong, taking the first set 25–20. After dropping the second 19–25, they bounced back to win the third 25–16. In a tight fourth set, the Lady Cats edged out a come from behind 26–24 victory to secure the match.

Key players powered the Lady Cats’ win. Bri Linehan led with 19 kills, followed by Cora Roweton with 11 and Brinley Watson with 10. Kalli Noell led the defense with 4 blocks, backed by Anna Brunner and Christa Duffel, while Faith Klindworth anchored the backcourt with 16 digs.

Playmaking took center stage in the Lady Cats’ victory as setter Kamryn Link achieved a remarkable career milestone—surpassing 2,000 career assists. This achievement reflects her exceptional consistency, court vision, and leadership as the driving force behind the team’s offensive success. In this match alone, Link recorded 29 assists, orchestrating the attack while continuing to be a cornerstone of the Lady Cats’ competitive edge.  Additional contributions came from Audrey Riley, Anna Howe, and Emma Godwin, who helped sustain strong ball movement throughout the game.

Looking ahead, the Lady Cats will face Oklahoma City University on Friday, in Oklahoma City. They currently hold a 14-10 overall record and a 9-9 conference record, showing solid momentum heading into the stretch run of the season.
