Lady Cats Claim Sooner Athletic Conference Win

Point Lookout, MO - The College of the Ozarks Lady Cats earned a big win over Science and Arts, defeating them 91–67 in a Sooner Athletic Conference game on Thursday, at Keeter Gym.

Science and Arts started strong in the first quarter, led by Jordyn Rollins, who hit early jump shots and a three-pointer. But the Lady Cats quickly answered, with Savannah Ketchum scoring key buckets to put College of the Ozarks ahead 20–14 after one quarter.

In the second quarter, Science and Arts tried to rally, but the Lady Cats stayed in control. Logan Jones and Ashlen Garrett played well, and Zoe Hinze knocked down a big three-pointer to push the lead to 13. The Lady Cats went into halftime up 48–35

The Lady Cats kept rolling in the third quarter. Logan Jones hit several threes and made strong passes, while Ashlen Garrett grabbed multiple steals to slow down the Drovers. Their efforts helped push the lead to 20 points, ending the quarter 69–47.

In the fourth quarter, Morgan Mattingley, Aspen Cone, and Avery Arnold added to the lead, helping the Lady Cats finish with a strong, comfortable win.

Logan Jones led the Lady Cats with 21 points, while Ashlen Garrett added 17 points and an impressive 7 steals. Savannah Ketchum also had a strong game, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Cats combined to go 23-24 from the free throw line to help provide the point spread.

Next, the Lady Cats will take on Mid-America Christian University at Keeter Gym on Saturday. They’ll look to build on their record and continue to build their momentum in the Sooner Athletic Conference schedule.
