Lady Cats Secure Hard-Fought Conference Win on the Road at JBU

Siloam Springs, AR - The College of the Ozarks Lady Cats battled back from an early deficit to capture a thrilling 3-2 win over John Brown (Ark.) in a tense conference volleyball matchup on Wednesday in Siloam Springs, Ark., The match showed the Lady Cats’ ability to respond, coming back after dropping the first two sets

The Lady Cats dropped the opening two sets in tight fashion, 23-25 and 25-27, leaving them at a 0-2 deficit. The Lady Cats responded in the third set, earning a 25-20 win to extend the match. Building on that momentum, the Lady Cats controlled the fourth set from start to finish, earning a decisive 25-14 victory. In the winner-take-all fifth set, they maintained their composure and secured a 15-9 win, completing the comeback and winning the match.

Key players significantly contributed to the turnaround. Anna Brunner led the team with 13 kills and 7 blocks, demonstrating a powerful presence both offensively and defensively. Cora Roweton also made significant contributions with 10 kills and 5 blocks, while Anna Howe provided support with 9 kills and 4 blocks. On the defensive side, Audrey Riley notched 16 digs, supported by Emma Godwin and Gabby Bozzay who had 11 and 10 digs respectively. The strategic plays were supported by excellent serving, with Faith Klindworth claiming 4 aces.

With this victory, the College of the Ozarks Lady Cats move their record to 9-3 overall with a 4-3 mark in the SAC. The Lady Cats will face Mid- America Christian University at home on Friday, September 26th at 6:00 p.m.
