SWEEP!

Point Lookout, MO - After a tough loss on the road two days earlier, the College of the Ozarks Lady Cats needed to bounce back as they returned to conference play. The Lady Cats hosted the Eagles of Southwestern Christian University at Keeter Gym in Point Lookout, MO on Friday, and cruised to a straight set win, 3-0.

The match began with the Lady Cats trailing early, then recovering to take the first set 25-20. Their momentum grew stronger in the second set, where they dominated with a score of 25-17. By the third set, the Lady Cats were firing on all cylinders and overwhelmed the Eagles with an impressive 25-10 win to complete the sweep.

Cora Roweton led the team with 10 kills, followed closely by Bri Linehan with 9 kills and Christa Duffel with 8 kills. On the defensive front, Anna Brunner made significant contributions with 5 blocks, while Audrey Riley showcased her all-around skills with both 10 digs and 18 assists. Kalli Noell also stood out, serving 4 aces during the match.

Coach Muckenthaler commented; “This was a good team win with a lot of players contributing down the stretch. It was good to see our team rebound from a tough road loss and turn things on again at home. Our goal is to keep improving as we work toward the post season and tonight was another step in the right direction.”

With this victory, the Lady Cats improve their record to 11-5 overall and 6-4 in the conference. They look to carry this momentum into their next match, again at Keeter Gym, where they will face Oklahoma City University on Saturday.
