Point Lookout, MO - The College of the Ozarks Lady Cats took on the Evangel Valor in a non-conference matchup on Thursday, in Point Lookout, Missouri. It was a hard-fought and highly competitive game from start to finish, but despite a strong showing, the Lady Cats came up just short, falling to Evangel with a final score of 96–91.

The Lady Cats came out strong, opening the game with a layup from Logan Jones. Both teams traded baskets throughout the first period, with Evangel’s Carson Dillard knocking down an early three and helping the Valor build an 8-point lead. The Lady Cats responded and closed the gap, taking a 25–24 lead at the end of the quarter thanks to a late jumper from Jones.

In the second period, the Lady Cats stretched their lead with key free throws from Abigail McBride and momentum-shifting defensive steals. Evangel answered back, as Dillard drained another three to tie the game. Logan Jones quickly countered with a three of her own, keeping the Lady Cats in front. College of the Ozarks held onto their narrow edge heading into halftime, leading 48–46.

The third quarter remained a back-and-forth battle, with multiple lead changes throughout. Key shots from Evangel’s Shockley and Kamies helped the Valor gain momentum, eventually stretching their largest lead to six points. By the end of the period, Evangel held the advantage, 69–64.

The final quarter remained intense, with both teams battling for control. Evangel’s Dillard continued to knock down key three-pointers, while Logan Jones kept the Lady Cats within striking distance with clutch jumpers. Despite a late three from College of the Ozarks in the final seconds, Evangel held on to secure the win, 96–91.

Lady Cats' Keara Mattingley led with 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Logan Jones also stood out with 20 points and key plays throughout the game.

The next game for the Lady Cats is scheduled against LSU-Shreveport on November 14, 2025, at Point Lookout in the C of O Lady Cat Classic.
