College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcat Abby Oliver has been named this week to the WBCA NAIA Coaches All-America team and the NCCAA WBB DI All-Region Team.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association annually names a 10-member Coaches’ All-America team in each division (NCAA Divisions II, and III, NAIA, two-year college and high school). Awardees are selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in that division. Oliver was named to the 10-member NAIA team, which includes both Division I and Division II NAIA players.
The National Christian College Athletic Association recognizes top players from each of its six regions. Oliver was selected as one of five NCCAA DI Women’s Basketball players for First-Team honors.
Oliver has posted a great season for the Lady Bobcats, tallying 470 points as she helped lead the Lady Bobcats to a 29-4 record. Abby shot 46.3% from the field, netting 91 three-pointers, ranking her NAIA DII No. 8 in 3-point field goals made. In addition, Oliver pulled down 77 rebounds, dished 60 assists, and nabbed 21 steals. Her highest-scoring game of the season came against rival Evangel University, where she scored 26 points, going 9-16 from the field and draining five treys.
“I am so proud of Abby for her distinguished accomplishment as one of the top women’s basketball players in the NAIA and NCCAA,” stated head coach Becky Mullis. “She continues our Ozarks tradition of exceptional players and is deserving of this honor. Abby is a joy for me to coach and loves the game of basketball.”
