College of the Ozarks women’s basketball won big on the road at Haskell (Kan.) on Tuesday evening, 81-40. With the win, the Lady Bobcats improved to 25-4 on the season.
The Lady Bobcats pounced on Haskell early, taking the first quarter 20-10. Annie Noah and Aleksei Smith each had six points to get the C of O scoring started. By the half, C of O had extended their lead to 34-18, largely due to defense. The Lady Cats held Haskell to just 6 for 30 (20%) from the field, including 2 for 11 (18.2%) from distance. College of the Ozarks also controlled the boards, 29-10.
In the second half, C of O started to heat up from the field, shooting 19 for 33 (57.6%) with five three-pointers made on 12 attempts (41.7%). The Lady Bobcats won the third quarter 21-14 and the fourth quarter 26-8.
For the game, College of the Ozarks forced 16 Haskell turnovers with just 7 miscues of their own. C of O outrebounded Haskell 42-20 on the night. In all, the Lady Bobcats shot 31 for 66 (47%), while holding their opponents to a mere 15 for 54 (27.8%).
Three Lady Cats scored in double figures. Grace Steiger led the way with 15 points and four rebounds. Abby Oliver scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Harper Little scored 10 points, had two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
