College of the Ozarks’ Bobcats pick up the WIN over the Welch College Flames this afternoon, 82-74, to improve their record to 5-4. Rackley & McBride led four in double figures, scoring 20 & 17 respectively.
The Bobcats scored early and often on the Flames in the first half, taking a 44-27 lead into the locker room. However, a rough start in the second half for the Cats allowed Welch to tie the game and take a 58-57 lead with 10:20 remaining. The two teams would battle for control over the next six minutes, but with 4:01 on the clock, Rackley drove to the basket to extend the C of O lead to four. A miss by Welch and a strong rebound by Bobcat Ayden Stone led to a three-point swish by Brandt Cochran to extend the C of O lead to seven. The Bobcats would go on to finish out the game with an eight-point advantage.
Bobcat junior Rackley tallied 20 points and added 6 rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Freshman McBride put up 17 points and pulled down 10 boards for a double double, also nabbing two steals. Cochran scored 14, with three assists, four rebounds, and a steal. Stone recorded 10 points and just missed doubling up by hauling in 9 rebounds, as he added 2 steals and 2 assists.
The Bobcats will take a break in action over the Thanksgiving holiday and return to their home court on December 10 to face William Woods University.
