Congratulations go out to Abigayle Money and Samuel Baumer, who were named today as the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Cross Country Runners of the Week.
Money, a freshman, posted a personal-best time of 18:52 to finish third in the 5-kilometer Mid-States Classic last Saturday in Winfield, Kan., taking almost 25 seconds off her season-best time. The Buncombe, Ill., native helped lead the Lady Bobcats’ team to a third-place finish out of 19 teams competing.
Baumer, in his third season, led the Bobcats to a sixth-place finish in the 20-team NAIA Mid-States Classic He posted a season-best 8-kilometer time of 26:02 to place 17th in a field of 182 runners. The Columbia, Mo., native dropped one full minute from his best 8-kilometer performance and was just eight seconds from recording his career-low time over the distance.
Money and Baumer are repeat recipients of this award in 2019-2020. Baumer collected the first honors of the season, the duo picked up the honors on October 14, and they were the final recipients of the award to close the regular season.
