College of the Ozarks Baseball hosted a doubleheader against Lindenwood on Saturday losing both games by a score of 5-2.

For game one, the Bobcats placed senior ace Collan Thrasher on the bump.  Lindenwood countered with soft-tossing lefty Dylan Chisholm.  C of O struck first in the bottom of the second inning after a Kole Kelley (2-3, run) bunt single.  Kelley subsequently advanced to second and then third base on consecutive pass balls.  Westin Gann (1-2, RBI) drove Kelley in with a single back up the box.

Lindenwood started the top of the third with a bunt single of their own, followed by a pair of singles and a fielder’s choice to go up 2-1.  The Bobcats quickly responded in the bottom of the inning to tie the game after a Kyle Abrahamson (1-2, run) single.  Abrahamson was able to advance to third after a Max Pulley (1-3, double) double to left-center and later scored on a ground ball off the bat of Bryce Burtless (1-3, RBI).

The game remained knotted until the top of the fifth when a pair of Bobcat errors led to two runs for the Lynx.  Lindenwood tacked on another run in the last frame to complete the seven-inning win, 5-2.   Dylan Chisholm completed the game for the win and Thrasher took a complete game loss.

C of O Bobcat Kyle Giefer started on the mound for game two.  After a pair of Lindenwood singles and a Bobcat error, Giefer settled down to pitch out of a bases loaded jam to keep the game at zeros.

Singles by Jay Kaufman (1-3, run) and Lincoln Rassmussen (1-3) started the bottom of the second inning for the Bobcats the right way.   Kyle Abrahamson (1-3, RBI) painted the line to deep right field for a triple to put the Cats up 2-0.

Unfortunately, the lead was short lived, as Lindenwood immediately struck back in the top of the third with two runs of their own.  A trio of Bobcat errors aided the Lynx in scoring runs in three of the next four innings to grab the second game, 5-2. Giefer took the loss for the Cats and Garrison was credited with a complete game win for the Lynx.

The Bobcats get a chance to redeem themselves tomorrow, February 17th against Lindenwood for another doubleheader starting at 1 PM.
