College of the Ozarks Bobcat baseball senior Jay Kaufman has been recognized as the Association of Independent Institutions’ (A.I.I.) Player of the Week for his strong performance at the plate last week.

Jay Kaufman had a perfect Senior Day finish for the College of the Ozarks Bobcats to cap off a big week. The senior second baseman from Forsyth, Mo. hammered a walk-off two-run homer on a rainy, windy Senior Day Saturday to give C of O, and himself as the complete-game pitcher, a 4-3 win over Columbia College.

In his six games played, Kaufman finished the week batting 10-for-16 (.625) with four doubles, a home run, five RBI, and two runs scored.  He drew six walks and posted an on-base percentage of .727 with a slugging percentage of 1.06, leading the Bobcats to a 4-2 mark.

To date, Kaufman boasts a batting average of .406 and a slugging percentage of .616. He has hit 13 doubles and racked up 34 RBI this season.

Congratulations, Jay!
