College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats took care of business on their home court Tuesday evening as they defeated Lyon College (Ark.) in three sets, 25-18, 25-14, and 27-25.
The Scots entered the evening with a 2-0 early-season record, but College of the Ozarks handed the Lyons their first loss, thanks to a stronger offensive attack and solid defense at the net, featuring 16 blocks.
The Lady Bobcats were cheered on boy a great student crowd an led on the court by Alex Spears with 9 kills, Kaylan Smith tallying 6 blocks, Rielly Dobbs handing off 24 assists, and Haley Stallings collecting 21 digs. Kayli Grant sported a .727 hitting percentage with 8 kills and no errors in 11 attempts. Ryley Thixton also made a solid contribution on the evening, recording 8 kills, 11 digs, and 4 blocks.
College of the Ozarks moves to 4-1 on the season and will head to Nebraska later this week to play four matches in a tournament hosted by Bellevue University. The Lady Bobcats will return home to face Williams Baptist University at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 3rd.
