College of the Ozarks Head Coach Neale Richardson is pleased to announce the signing of Riley Loyd signee for the Bobcat Baseball Class of 2019-2020.
Loyd hails from Little Rock, Arkansas and is entering his senior season at Baptist Preparatory School. He will provide the Bobcats with valuable experience in both the outfield and on the mound.
As a freshman, Loyd was a regular starter in the outfield for the Eagles, seeing action in all 23 games.
He stepped up during his sophomore season, establishing himself as both a hitter and pitcher. At the plate, he recorded a .281 average, and on the mound, he threw 53 innings with 54 strikeouts three wins. At the close of the season, Loyd received All-Conference recognition.
Building on the previous year’s success, Loyd continued his steady presence at the plate, driving in in 25 runs. On the hill, he posted a stellar 10-2 record, with an ERA of 1.65, 95 Ks, and 32 BB in 80.2 innings pitched. Loyd racked up post-season honors, garnering All-Conference, All-State, and All-State Tournament Team accolades.
Loyd looks to continue to build upon his success as he competes in his senior season. As he looks toward the future, Loyd plans on pursuing a degree in PE and Secondary Education and aspires to be a high school baseball coach.
