College of the Ozarks’ senior guard Kelsie Cleeton was named Monday as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division I Women’s Basketball Student Athlete of the Week, as well as the Association of Independent Institutions’ (A.I.I.) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Cleeton helped the Lady Bobcats pick up three wins on the week to improve their record to 16-2.
The Springfield native averaged 13.7 points, 14.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 3.3 assists per game, demonstrating her impressive versatility on the court. Over the three-game stretch, she shot 52%, draining 17-of-33 field goals.
In the Lady Cats’ 17-point road win over NAIA DII No. 23 ranked Indiana University Northwest on Saturday, Cleeton scored 17 points and brought down 13 rebounds, while snagging 5 steals and dishing out 4 assists.
Cleeton has posted double-doubles in 11-of-18 games played this season, including two this past week.
