The College of the Ozarks Bobcat and Lady Cat Cross Country teams turned in yet another solid performance this past weekend. Competing in the Seminole Valley Stampede, hosted by Mount Mercy University on Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the Lady Bobcats brought home a fourth place finish and the Bobcats finished sixth.
In the women’s 5k race, the Lady Bobcats finished behind Missouri Baptist, Baker, and Grand View and turned in a combined time of 142:22. Abigayle Money continued her strong season with a time of 19:40 which was good for ninth place out of 133 runners. Emily Stall recorded another solid finish with a time of 19:53 and 12th place overall. Janelle Staal was just shy of the top 20 with her time of 20:20. Rebecca Loya continued building on her first college season with a time of 20:56 and Jacqueline O’Harver finished with a time of 21:31. Rounding out the Lady Cat times, Naomi Foskett recorded a time of 22:02, Lauren Cowden finished with a time of 22:42, Trinity Sadosky was right on Cowden’s heels with a time of 22:42.4, and Mary Zimmerman recorded a time of 23:48.
In the men’s 8k, Janvier Irakoze had another outstanding performance and finished in fourth place out of 148 runners. His time of 25:47 knocked close to a full second off his previous times to lead the Bobcats. Garrett Pierce finished with a time of 27:17. Cole Chafin crossed the finish line at the 28:24 mark while Wesley Moore was right behind him with a time of 28:41. Spencer Dyck and Mason Apperson rounded out the Bobcat times with 30:09 and 31:09 respectively.
The Bobcats and Lady Bobcats will be back in action Saturday, October 23 at the St. Louis Fall Classic.
