The Lady Bobcat golf team completed their final round of play today in the 2019 NCCAA Women's Golf National Championship, held at the Hammock Beach Ocean Course in Palm Coast, Fla. When the final putt was drained, the Lady Cats found themselves in a tie for 6th place out of eight teams competing.
Freshman Bianca Cunningham led the Lady Cats in the final round, carding an 85 in Wednesday's play. Overall, Bianca finished in 19th place out of 50 competitors with a three-day total of 259.
Sophomore Hannah Aherin struggled in Wednesday's round, but posted a 3-day total of 270 to finish in 26th place.
Kate Voss improved her scoring each day of play and tallied a 281 to tie for 33rd place.
Katelyn Swope (283) and Ashley Stanphill (293) placed 36th and 40th respectively to round out the team's scoring. Full results can be found here.
The tournament provided the young team with an opportunity to gain valuable experience on a prestigious course in championship play--not to mention the chance to break away mid-semester to Florida!
Congratulations to the Lady Cats on qualifying for Nationals and representing C of O well.
Both the men's and women's teams will take a break from competition until the second half of their season resumes in the spring.
