College of the Ozarks Bobcat & Lady Bobcat Track and Field teams competed on Friday in the  Wendy’s Tune-Up Meet at Pitt State University in Kansas.   

The meet featured some tough competition.  Athletes participated from Oral Roberts, Rogers State, Southwest Baptist, Coffeyville, Missouri Southern, Drury, Central Missouri, William Jewell, C of O, and host Pittsburg State.

Meet highlights feature:

  • Ty Durnell and Miles Mrowiec posted personal records (PR’s) in the javelin toss.  Miles took 5th place with a throw of 51.5m, and Ty was 7th with a 45.84m toss, which added yet another qualifier to the men's team for nationals.
  • Garrett Pierce collected 1st place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:28.83.
  • Alyssa Goth placed 13th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:29.85.
  • Madison Bagg took 15th in the 800 with a time of 2:34.26.

The next and final meet for the Bobcats 2019 season will feature a trip to the NCCAA Nationals in Winona Lake, IN.
