College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats followed up a four-game weekend road trip with a Monday evening match at home against Williams Baptist University (Ark.).
The Lady Bobcats defeated the Eagles in three straight sets, collecting their 7th win and handing head coach Stacy Muckenthaler her 100th career victory in the process.
The Cats got off to a slow start in the first match, with the two teams tied at 17-17, before College of the Ozarks went on an eight-point run to close out a 25-17 win in the first set.
In the second set, the Lady Bobcats took an early 7-3 lead, but the Eagles rallied and pulled within one point at 8-7. CofO, however, regained their edge and went on to outscore Williams Baptist 17-7 to collect the 25-14 win.
The final set saw the Lady Bobcats take the lead and never look back, as Ozarks won by a score of 25-9.
Freshmen Megan Caulfield and Kennedy Atkinson had the opportunity to take the court for their collegiate debut. Caulfield tallied 1 kill and 1 dig, and Atkinson recorded 3 kills and 1 dig.
Leading the Bobcats on the evening were: Alex Spears with 12 kills, Haley Stallings with 15 digs, Kayli Grant with 3 blocks, and Rielly Dobbs with 28 assists. Alex Spears collected a double-double, adding 11 digs to her 12 kills.
The Bobcats, now 7-3 on the season, will head north later this week to play at The Courts in Springfield for the Evangel University tournament. Games will take place on Friday at 5 & 7 p.m., followed by matches at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
