College of the Ozarks Bobcat & Lady Bobcat golf teams are playing this week in the Crossroads of America Invitational in Wentzville, Mo.
Both the Bobcats and Lady Cats closed out Day One of the two-day event with their teams placing third out of ten and eight teams, respectively.
For the men, senior Heath Carmichael (Ozark, Mo.) and freshman Connor Herzberg (Broken Arrow, Okla.) completed their initial round of play with a two-over par 73. Caleb Davis posted a 77, Stuart Jacobs – 78, Marcos Devoto – 81, and Ricardo Devoto – 82. The men’s team score of 301 (+17) set a school record for the Bobcats by 8 strokes!
The Lady Cats were led by Bianca Cunningham (Dallas, Texas), who carded a 78 on her first round. Following close behind were Hannah Aherin with an 80, Katelyn Swope at 83, Kate Voss posted an 84, and Ashley Stanphill shot 92. The women’s team also set a record, shooting +42—improving their best one-day total relative to par by 17 strokes!
The two teams are back in action Tuesday for Day Two.
