Cleeton Named NAIA DII Player of the Week

Feb 19, 2019

Congratulations to Kelsie Cleeton, senior guard for the Lady Bobcats, who was named today as the NAIA DII Women’s Basketball Player of the Week!

This is the first time the Lady Cats have had an NAIA Player of the Week since Cara Painter Stone, who graduated in 2006.  You can read all about it here.

Cleeton, a 5’7 guard for the Lady Bobcats, had a big week, as she demonstrated her versatility on the court.  On Saturday, Cleeton posted a quadruple-double, as the Lady Cats downed A.I.I. competitor Lincoln Christian University, 84-44. The Springfield, Mo.  native tallied 14 points, 13 rebounds, 12 steals, and 11 assists.  In the Lady Cats’ 90-46 win over Cottey College earlier in the week, Cleeton posted a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds, adding 7 assists and 2 steals.

On the week, Cleeton averaged 12 points, 15 rebounds, 9 steals, and 7 assists per game, almost posting a triple-double for the week.  For the season, she has accumulated 15 double-doubles, two triple-doubles, and one quadruple-double.

Congrats, once again, Kelsie!
