Becky Mullis, head coach of College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats basketball, is pleased to announce she has received a verbal commitment from Katie Mayes for the 2020-21 season.
The 5’10 forward from Ozark (Mo.) High School was named to the Class 5 All-District (11) team, COC Honorable Mention team, and All-Tournament Team in the Great 8 Classic during her junior season. Katie averaged 11 points per game while shooting 51% from the field, 6.8 rebounds per game, 1.1 assists per game, and 1.4 steals per game. She also shot 75% from the free throw line.
"Katie is a tough competitor with a high basketball IQ," stated Mullis. "She has the ability to score with her back to the basket, as well as step out and shoot from the perimeter. She will help to solidify the paint for the Lady Bobcats and continue the great tradition as an NAIA national power. Katie is a tremendous person with high character and a strong work ethic, which makes her a natural fit at College of the Ozarks."
Katie is scheduled to sign her national letter of intent on November 13th.
