Congratulations to Bobcat senior Heath Carmichael, who was recognized as the Association of Independent Institutions' Men's Basketball Player of the Week, thanks to his performance on the court this past week.
The 6-foot-3 guard from Ozark, Mo., made 13 of 20 three-point field goal attempts and averaged 20.5 points in two victories against A.I.I. opponents last week. He added eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals in the games.
Carmichael made eight of his 11 three-point field goal shots in leading the Bobcats to an 87-60 win over Haskell Indian Nations University (Kan.) last Saturday. Earlier, he had 17 points on six of 10 field goals in an 85-74 victory at Crowley's Ridge College (Ark.) last Tuesday.
For the season, Carmichael is averaging 15.4 points per game. He ranks second among all NAIA Division 2 players for total three-point field goals (109) and is third nationally by making 51.4 percent of his three-point field goal and three-pointers made per game (4.037).
