Dallas, TX - In a challenging basketball conference game, the College of the Ozarks Bobcats faced off against the UNT-Dallas Trailblazers at the Ellis Davis Fieldhouse on Saturday. Despite a strong effort, the Bobcats were defeated 73-54 by the Trailblazers.
From the onset, UNT-Dallas took command with an early lead and did not relent throughout the game. The Trailblazers led 36-22 by halftime, leveraging fast-break layups and sharpshooting from the perimeter. The Bobcats put up a resilient fight, highlighted by Bryce Butler's team-leading 16 points. Meanwhile, DJ Quarles made notable contributions with 2 assists and 2 steals, showcasing his all-around play. Kyle Flavin led the rebounding efforts with 5 boards.
Despite aggressive gameplay and efforts from the Bobcats, UNT-Dallas extended their lead significantly in the second period, maintaining control and finishing the game with a comfortable 19-point victory.
Additional support for the team came from Andrew Dalton and Garrett Snyder, who also added to the scoreboard and defensive plays. Dalton scored 5 points and secured 3 rebounds, while Snyder contributed 8 points and 3 rebounds along with an assist.
The Cats face off against Nelson University on Monday, February 24 at 6:00 PM in their final regular season game.
