Staal Leads Lady Cats to Fourth-Place Finish

Emily Staal continued her strong season with a second-place finish at the Missouri Southern Stampede (5k) in Joplin, Missouri last Friday. Staal turned in a time of 19:08.8 to lead the Lady Cats to a fourth-place finish overall. Trinity Sadosky and Rebecca Loya also finished in the top ten with times of 19:40.9 (sixth place) and 19:56.8 (eighth place) respectively. Lauren Cowden crossed the finish line with a time of 21:32.7 and Naomi Fosket recorded a time of 22:51. Gracie Gatton finished with a time of 23:12, Gracie Vestal logged a time of 24:52, and Jacqui O’Harver crossed the line with a time of 25:48.6.

The Bobcats were led by Tanner Bailey with an 8k time of 28:45.4. Drew Rose finished with a time of 29:32.4, Cole Chafin crossed the line with a time of 31:46.3, Caleb Fewin recorded a time of 32:33.6, and Alex Frizzell and Eric Burns were nearly side by side with times of 32:45.6 and 32:50.3 respectively. Gabe Whitman finished with a time of 33:08.3, Daniel Chupp logged a time of 33:39.4, and Hunter McKinney came in with a time of 35:22.7.

The Bobcats and Lady Cats will continue their season on September 29, when they compete in the very challenging Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
