Four Lady Cat Athletes Receive Weekly Honors

Four Lady Cat Athletes received Athlete of the Week honors for their performances over the last week.

Emily Staal placed second out of 106 runners at the Missouri Southern Stampede, running the 5-kilometer course in 19:08 and was recognized as the Continental Athletic Conference Runner of the Week.


Bailey Chamberlain received Continental Athletic Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week. Chamberlain had 43 kills and hit .255 in leading the Bobcats to winning three of last week’s five matches. The Dexter, Missouri, native tallied 11 kills in a 3-0 victory against Cottey College (Missouri) last Friday. The middle hitter also was a force defensively with 12 blocks.

 

Kamryn Link was recognized as the Continental Athletic Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week. Link recorded 119 assists and averaged 6.61 assists per set during the College of the Ozarks’ recent five-match span. The Jackson, Missouri, native had 27 assists in a 3-0 win against Cottey and a 3-2 loss to William Woods University (Missouri) last Wednesday.


Mica Chadwell anchored the College of the Ozarks defense across five matches last week and received National Christian College Athletic Association defensive honors. Chadwell had 122 digs for an average of 6.22 digs per set on the week. She had 154 serve reception attempts and had just 3 errors as the team went 3-2.

Along with these honors, Bailey Chamberlain and Bri Linehan were selected as University of Health, Sciences, and Pharmacy - Eutectics Classic, All-Tournament Team.
