The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats wrapped up their regular season by honoring three seniors Saturday, Katie Mayes, Annie Noah, and Jordan Wersinger, then cruising to a 75-43 win over Baptist Bible College. The three seniors have been a stabilizing force for the Lady Cats through some difficult times in the program. During that time, Katie Mayes has developed into a solid contributor on both ends of the floor and has left a lasting mark on the program. Annie Noah broke both the 1000 point and 1000 rebound marks and has been a solid leader. Jordan Wersinger is the latest to break the 1000-point plateau for the Lady Cats and has shown a lot of persistence and resilience throughout her career. Noah and Wersinger were recognized for their 1000 Rebound and 1000-Point accomplishments prior to the game.

Once the celebrations were complete, the Lady Cats went to work. The game was close in the early going and the two teams traded baskets. A pair of Wersinger free throws and a Taylor Rush basket started the Lady Cat offense, but a pair of BBC threes put the Lady Cats down 8-5. Baskets by Noah, Wersinger, and Kayley Frank quickly returned the lead to the Lady Cats. Susanna Moran got on the board with back-to-back jumpers and the Lady Cats took a 15-11 lead into the first quarter break.

Moran started the second stanza with another basket to give her a 6-0 run over the Patriots. A Taylor Rush three made it a 9-0 run and the Lady Cat lead grew to 20-11. BBC cut into the lead with a basket at the 7:36 mark and the defense for both teams took over. Neither team put points on the board until a Kayley Frank basket went in at the 5:06 mark. The Patriots broke their silence with a three before Frank and Blythe Benefield added to the Lady Cat lead. Wersinger, Noah, and Frank rounded out the first half scoring and sent the Lady Cats to the locker room with a 32-20 lead.

The Lady Cats wasted little time making a third quarter statement. Taylor Rush drained a three, then a two, before Jordan Wersinger connected from deep to force a BBC timeout. Noah scored out of the huddle and the Lady Cat lead was up to 42-22. The Patriots continued to battle, but the Lady Cat attack was too much to handle. Rush was fouled on a three and hit all of her free throws and Wersinger, Noah and Frank continued the run. Isabel Rohlfing jumped in the scoring column as the quarter was winding down and the Lady Cat lead was 63-31 after three.

Rohlfing and Moran opened the fourth quarter scoring before a dry spell hit for the Lady Cats. The Patriots were unable to fully capitalize as the Lady Cat defense clamped down. Wersinger and Mayes teamed up with Jada Henry to close out the scoring and the Lady Cats secured the 75-43 win.

Jordan Wersinger led all scorers with 19 points and Taylor Rush and Kayley Frank added double figures with 16 and 11 respectively. Annie Noah tacked on nine points, Susanna Moran eight, Katie Mayes and Isabel Rohlfing chipped in four, and Blythe Benefield and Jada Henry added two points each.

The Lady Cats will be back in action at home this Saturday when they host the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament. The Lady Cats will play either Southwestern Christian University or Baptist Bible College in the championship game at 2 PM.
