Bobcats Shine at 2025 SAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Fort Worth, TX - At the recent 2025 SAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Texas Wesleyan University, College of the Ozarks' track and field teams showcased their skills and determination. The women's team secured 8th place with 61 points, while the men's team finished in 9th place with 32 points.

This standout performance was highlighted by several Bobcats who topped the leaderboard in various events. Among the stars, Emilie Zylstra clinched first place in the 3000m Steeplechase, posting a time of 12:39.67. In the field events, Morgan Wood captured first place in the Heptathlon, finishing at the top in the high jump, 100 meter hurdles, and 800 meter run. Meanwhile, Elijah Propst dominated the Javelin Throw, securing first place with a 58.49 meter throw, over 10 meters further than the second-place finisher.

Further notable achievements included Tanner Bailey's 15:55.41 finish in the 5000m Run, earning him third place. Jack Lawson finished the 5000m Run in 17:19.51, placing him 14th. Keena Goze took a hard-fought second place in the 10000m run, posting a time of 38:58.60, and Evangelia Woods also grabbed second in the Discus Throw at 39.55 meters. Jordyn Tarr took eighth place with a 33.81m Discus Throw.

Other competitors include Jay Knabe, who competed in both the 5000m Run and the 1500m Run. Drew Rose took 5th place in the 3000m Steeplechase, finishing in 11:00.83. Jacob Burton competed in both the Long Jump (6.46 meters) and the Triple Jump (13.05 meters). Tucker Ahlers took seventh in the Discus Throw (39.81 meters) and third in the Javelin (47.63 meters). Keaton Terry recorded a 30.35 meter Discus throw. Ben Meyer posted a 42.62 meter throw in the Javelin, which was good for seventh place.

Melaina Wilson posted a time of 27.05 in the 200 meter dash, and a 1:00.69 in the 400 meter dash. Kristlyn Smith took third place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.46. Smith also competed in the 100 meter hurdles, finishing in 17.62 seconds.

The Bobcats and the Lady Cats will travel to Columbia, South Carolina for the NCCAA National Championship Meet, taking place May 7-9.
