CHICKASHA, OK — The College of the Ozarks Bobcats failed to advance past the Sooner Athletic Conference Opening Round as they competed against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers in a doubleheader on April 25, 2025. The Bobcats were unable to overcome the Drovers, losing 7-0 in the first and 8-6 in the second game.

During the first game, the Drovers took an early lead in the second inning and did not look back, shutting out the Bobcats 7-0. The Bobcats struggled to mount a response, with none of their players managing to score or drive in any runs throughout the game. Bobcats' starting pitcher, Brody Baumann, faced a tough lineup, ultimately unable to turn the tide of Science and Arts' potent offense.

The second game saw a more determined effort from the Bobcats, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. Despite falling behind, the Bobcats rallied late to put six runs on the board. Trey Riley, who scored twice, and Brody Baumann, who led the team with three RBIs, highlighted the Cats' offense. Runs came from Craig Busse, Aaron Fisher, and Charlie Parker, with Alex Nimmo and Cole Hilton contributing to the RBIs. However, standout performances from the opponents, including critical doubles by Ian Ortiz and a decisive homerun by Peyton McDowall, sealed the game at 8-6 in favor of Science and Arts.

The Bobcats hope for a chance to make a run in the NCCAA postseason. Potential regional tournaments will be announced at a later date.
