Warrensburg, MO - The College of the Ozarks Bobcats had tremendous success in their recent Track and Field meet against the University of Central Missouri on April 11, 2025, in Warrensburg, MO. On the men's side, the Bobcats showcased a strong performance in both running and field competitions.
In the demanding long-distance event of 10,000 meters, Tanner Bailey led the Bobcats with a remarkable second-place finish, clocking in at 31:09.13. Bailey's performance qualified him for the NCCAA national championship meet. Not far behind in endurance, Drew Rose tackled the 3,000 meters steeplechase finishing 23rd with a time of 10:55.09. Speed events saw Levi Wilson and Giffy Keeler compete in the 100 meters preliminaries, where they ended up ranking 71st and 90th respectively, with times of 11.77 and 12.61.
The field events also highlighted Bobcat talents where Elijah Propst excelled in the javelin throw reaching a distance of 55.59 meters, achieving fourth rank. Similarly, Jacob Burton showcased his skills in the triple jump, attaining a 17th place with a leap of 12.85 meters.
On the women's side, the Lady Cats saw success from both upperclassmen and newcomers in various events.
Morgan Wood clocked 27.22 seconds in the Women's 200 Meters and 16.60 seconds in the Women's 100 Hurdles. Melaina Wilson followed closely behind, finishing the Women's 200 Meters in 27.33 seconds and the Women's 400 Meters in 1:02.19, demonstrating her versatility and strength. Long-distance runner Keena Goze completed the Women's 10,000 Meters in 38:03.77, qualifying her for the NCCAA national championship meet.
In hurdle events, Kristlyn Smith ran the Women's 400 Hurdles in 1:12.15, while Emilie Zylstra conquered the Women’s 3000 Steeplechase in 12:53.23. The field events also saw notable achievements with Jordyn Tarr throwing 10.97m in Women’s Shot Put and Evangelia Woods reaching 38.76m in Women’s Discus, both setting strong marks for the Bobcats.
Her performance in the women's 10,000 meter earned Keena Goze the Sooner Athletic Conference Athlete of the week for track.
The Bobcats' next meet will take place at Texas Wesleyan University, as the Cats look to put together a strong performance during the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship meet on April 25 and April 26.
