The Bobcats faced a tough opponent in the Mustangs, falling with a final score of 13-2 in the opener. Under windy conditions and a mild 66 degrees, the Bobcats struggled to contain the offense of Central Baptist from the start.

Central Baptist took the lead early with two runs in the first inning, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Throughout the contest, the Bobcats' defense faced challenges, unable to curb the scoring of their opponents. The Bobcats only managed to score in the 7th inning, thanks to efforts from Kyle Beeman and Alex Nimmo, who crossed home to contribute the team's only runs for the game.

Charlie Parker and Brody Tyler were notable for their individual performances. Parker provided three hits and one RBI. Starting pitcher Tyler also produced a solid effort on the mound, recording three strikeouts over 3.1 innings of work. Despite these efforts, the team's struggles were apparent as they tried to rally after Central Baptist's strong early innings. Taking the 13-2 loss, the Bobcats knew they would need a better outing in the second game of the day.
