In a challenging conference game, the College of the Ozarks Bobcats experienced a tough loss against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers, with a final score line of 16-1 on Friday at Bob Smith Field. Despite the Bobcats' enthusiasm entering the game, the Drovers dominated across numerous innings, with a couple of big innings and solid defense to secure the win.

Craig Busse scored the only run for the Bobcats, a performance that highlighted the team's resilience despite the overwhelming scoreboard. Charlie Parker also contributed with an RBI, standing as a notable figure amidst a tough game for the home side. On the opposing side, Jaden Wiley, Gunnar Hansen, Duncan Key, Peyton McDowall, and Devin Alvarez collectively mounted a significant offense for the Drovers, with McDowall, Hansen, and Alvarez each adding a home run to their impressive day at the plate.

Gunnar Hansen, in particular, delivered a standout performance, contributing 4 hits, 3 RBIs, and a home run, underscoring the challenges faced by the Bobcats. The key moments came in the 5th and 7th innings when Science and Arts capitalized on their opportunities, pushing the game beyond reach for the Bobcats.

C of O vs Science & Arts - Game 2

After a tough loss in the first game of the doubleheader, the Bobcats defeated Science and Arts with a nail-biting score of 4-3 at Coach Bob Smith Field. The win highlighted key performances and crucial moments as the Bobcats defeated the number three team in the conference and stymied an explosive offense.

The Bobcat lineup saw notable contributions from several players. Charlie Parker was instrumental, hitting a double and driving in a run. Craig Busse, Kyle Beeman, and Trey Riley also crossed the plate, contributing to the total score. Trey Riley stood out with his offensive performance, driving in two runs with a single in the 4th inning to give the Bobcats the lead, and later hitting a go-ahead homerun in the bottom of the 6th inning that would stand up as the winning run.

Starting pitcher Brody Baumann delivered a strong performance on the mound, combining with catcher George Reynolds, who played a crucial role in the game's outcome. Baumann threw 7 innings, only allowing 3 runs against a powerful offensive lineup.

The Cats will play the Drovers in the final game of the series on Saturday, March 29th at 12:00 PM, looking to secure the series victory with another win.
