The Lady Bobcats traveled to Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday to face conference foe Haskell University for the third time this season and returned with a 3-1 win.
The Cats started the day off slowly, losing the first set 19-25, but were able to regroup and take the next three sets 25-8, 25-9, and 25-17.
Kayli Grant led the team in scoring with 14 kills and 2 blocks. Haley Stallings tallied 22 digs, alongside Rielly Dobbs’ 40 assists and 3 aces. Alex Spears and Ryley Thixton each had a double-double game with 11 kills apiece and 13 and 15 digs respectively. Kaylan Smith and Kaylee Larimer also protected CofO’s side of the net, posting 2 blocks each for the game.
The Cats’ hitting percentages proved better than Haskell’s in the last three sets, specifically in set three, where they recorded15 kills and only 2 errors out of 28 total attacks for a .464 average against Haskell’s 0.00.
