Bobcat basketball headed south to Siloam Springs, Ark. to play in the John Brown University Classic this weekend. In their opener on Friday evening, the Cats fell to Bethel University, Ind., 107-85.

Bethel, who is currently undefeated, shot 53.8% from the field on 76 shots, draining 17 of 36 from three-point land. Bethel’s leading scorer, TreVion Crews, tallied 31 points and nabbed six steals, while his teammate Grant Gelon scored 26 points, most of which came from nailing eight three-pointers. The Pilots pulled down 44 boards on the night and dished 25 assists, while committing 18 turnovers.
The Bobcats, meanwhile, were led on the floor by Treydon Rackley with 21 points and Brandt Cochran with 14 points and 7 assists. Ayden Stone and Trent McBride each grabbed six rebounds. The Bobcats collected 26 rebounds, handed off 15 assists, and matched the Pilots in turnovers.
The loss moves the Bobcats’ record to 3-3 on the season. They will face another tough opponent on Saturday, as they take on undefeated John Brown University at 4:00 p.m.
