Assistant Baseball Coach
Justin McMillin is in his fourth year as Assistant Baseball Coach at College of the Ozarks. Coach McMillin brings both high school and collegiate experience to the position and continues to make a positive impact on the Bobcats’ pitching staff. He has a long history with Head Coach Neale Richardson, having played for Richardson at Hillcrest High School in the late 1980’s.
Following a stellar prep career at Hillcrest High School, McMillin signed to play collegiately at then-Southwest Missouri State University. After his playing days, he began his coaching career at William Jewell College (1992-1998) as a pitching coach and recruiting coordinator under NAIA Hall of Fame coach Fred Flook.
Following a brief hiatus from coaching, McMillin went to the high school ranks at his alma mater Hillcrest High School (2000-2003) where he helped the Hillcrest summer team to a state championship in 2002. McMillin moved on to Nixa High School (2003-2012) and helped the Eagles to their first Central Ozark Conference championship, three district titles and a quarterfinal appearance in Class 5 in 2008.
Most recently, McMillin helped guide Logan-Rogersville High School (2013-2015) to three district titles and a pair of final fours. He has coached eight pitchers who have been drafted or signed by a Major League club.
As a varsity summer coach, McMillin amassed a 334-174 record in 13 seasons.
