College of the Ozarks has added men’s and women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field to their athletic program, beginning with the 2016-17 season.
Athletic Director Steve Shepherd stated, “We are pleased with the College’s continued commitment to add sports which provide more opportunities for our students to participate in intercollegiate athletics. With the addition of indoor/outdoor track, the total number of sports offered by College of the Ozarks in 2016-2017 will grow to ten.”
This season’s teams, comprised of about 30 current students, will be coached by Justin Carswell, who also serves as the College’s vice president for Christian ministries. His assistant coach will be Clint Woods, the director of the College’s activity center and cross country coach. An indoor and outdoor schedule for the coming season is currently being compiled.
“I am very excited and humbled to work with the student athletes at College of the Ozarks,” Carswell said. “I want our students to experience a quality training program that gets them ready to compete on the collegiate level. I believe we have some students who will be running at the NAIA National Championship next May.”
Current and prospective students interested in participating in this program should complete the track and field questionnaire located on the sidebar.
