The College of the Ozarks women's golf team played in the Central Kansas Classic this week. Despite horrible weather conditions that included winds of 20-30 mph and wind chills as low as 32 degrees, they battled to a sixth place finish out of eight teams. The women played 18 holes on Monday, but Tuesday's round was canceled due to high winds and rain.
Lady Bobcat Bekah Goodwin posted an 85 to finish in fourth place out of 39 golfers. Goodwin was third in Par 3 scoring (3.5), first in Par 5 scoring (5.0), tallied 7 pars, and drained one birdie. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
Kate Voss tied for 28th place, shooting a 104. Skylar Kistler followed with a 109, Ashley Stanphill shot a 122, and Makenzie Bradshaw finished with a 138.
The Lady Bobcats have one more tournament on their fall schedule, which will take place October 15 & 16. The Lady Panther Invitational will be hosted by Drury University at Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club in Bolivar, hopefully with better weather in store.
