Lady Cat Torri Holder finished 1st out of 84 team runners in the women’s 5K, as the College of the Ozarks men’s and women’s cross country teams had a record day in the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Fall Classic on October 22, 2016.
The Lady Bobcat runners placed 7th of 13 teams with an overall time of 1:45:20. Torri Holder’s first place finish was 20 seconds ahead of the 2nd place runner from Lindsey Wilson College, and three of Holder’s teammates ran their best times of the season to improve their team time by 1 ½ minutes.
Following Holder at the finish line were Melanie Hall (13th), Kayla Reed (17th), Kayla Cooper (55th), Rosemary Sanders (68th) and Naomi Murrell (77th) .
Posting personal season records were: Hall at 20:10.3, Cooper at 22:21.4, and Sanders at 23:47.0.
The Fall Classic was the last regular season run for both the men's and women's teams. Having qualified for conference, both teams will head to Denver next week to run in the A.I.I. Conference Championship on November 5th.
