The College of the Ozarks' women’s cross country team made a great showing Saturday in the A.I.I. Conference Championship race held in Bettendorf, Iowa.
The Lady Cats finished in second place, behind the powerhouse University of British Columbia team, by posting a team time of 102:51.8. Seven teams participated in the event.
Senior Torri Holder took 6th place overall, finishing in 19:35.6, with UBC pushing the first five runners over the finish line. Adeline Holder finished in 9th place (20:27.5), Hannah Duncan came in 10th (20:48.0), Melanie Hall was 11th (20:48.4), and Bethany Marteney rounded out the team score with her 12th place finish (21:12.3). Team members Bethany Edgar (22:05.2), Kayla Reed (22:09.6), and Naomi Murrell (22:16.2) finished right on their tails at 13th-15th place respectively out of 46 runners.
As a result of Saturday’s race, Lady Cats Torri Holder, Adeline Holder, Hannah Duncan, and Melanie Hall qualified to run in the NAIA National Championship race on November 18th in Vancouver, Washington.
