On a soggy course in Joplin, Missouri, on Saturday morning, the Lady Bobcat cross country team took 10th place in the Southern Stampede hosted by Missouri Southern State University. Seventeen teams participated in the meet, with 149 female runners.
Junior Torri Holder led the way, as she crossed the finish at 19:05.81 to take 6th place overall. Melanie Hall was next for the Lady Bobcats, as she set a personal record, running the 5K in 20:25.50 to take 32nd place. Kayla Reed followed close behind at 20:26.23 (34th), Kayla Cooper at 23:22.44 (119th), and Rosemary Sanders at 25:32.62 (134th).
Each of the ladies made significant improvements in their times over last week’s event in St. Louis.
The team’s next event will find them in Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the Chile Pepper Festival being held on October 1.
