Senior Torri Holder led the Lady Bobcats to a first-place finish in the St. Louis Classic this past weekend, as she garnered a first place victory for herself.
The Lady Bobcats finished first in a field of 11 teams, posting their second best time of the season at 1:40:26.9. Missouri Baptist followed in second place, and St. Mary-of-the-Woods collected third.
Holder captured the title for individual runners, finishing ahead of 86 runners, with a time of 19:16.5. Freshman Adeline Holder took 8th place (19:54.2), Hannah Duncan crossed the line in 11th place (20:05.0), Melanie Hall was 15th (20:27.2), and Bethany Marteney posted a personal best of 20:44.2 to take 21st place. Also contributing for the Lady Cats were Bethany Edgar (21:19.0 - 32nd), Kayla Reed (21:52.4 - 41st), and Naomi Murrell (22:28.4 - 49th).
Head Coach Clint Woods was pleased with the results of the weekend. He commented, "It was great to have four of our runners place in the Top 20 this weekend. The ladies are running well and working hard toward their goal of qualifying for the National Championships."
The Lady Cats will be off this coming weekend and then run in the A.I.I. Conference Championships in Bettendorf, Iowa, on November 4th.
