The Lady Bobcats improved their season record to 12-4 on Monday evening, as they defeated NAIA Div. I University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) in the first day of the CAM JAM Classic by a score of 73-45.
The Patriots of Cumberlands, who came into Monday’s game with a 9-4 record, shot only 27% from the floor, which included going 4-of-19 from the 3-point line. The Lady Cats, on the other hand, posted a field goal percentage of 41.9% and drained 7-of-17 treys.
The Patriots’ Cheyenne Madden tallied 18 points for her team, but no other Patriot scored more than 5 points.
College of the Ozarks’ Hannah Wisdom posted 19 points, going 9-of-16 from the floor, and gathered 8 rebounds. Also contributing to the Lady Cats scoring attack were freshman Ashley Forrest with 12 points, alongside Maggie McMenamy and Cassidy Johnson who scored 9 points apiece. Kelsie Cleeton led the game in rebounds with 9 and grabbed 2 steals.
The Lady Cats will face another Division I team in Day 2 of the CAM JAM Classic on Tuesday, as they take on Georgetown College (Ky.) at 5:30 p.m.
