Lady Cats Win Home Opener in Big Way

The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats won their first game of the season in a big way, defeating York College (Neb.) by a score of 94-45. 

 

In front of their home crowd, the Lady Cats held York to only 6 points in the first quarter and 12 in the second to take a 45-18 lead into the locker room at the half.  College of the Ozarks continued to dominate the game in the second half, 49-27, to collect a comfortable victory.

 

All 12 Lady Bobcats played and scored, with senior forward Maggie McMenamy leading all scorers with 16 points.  Sophomore guard Kelsie Cleeton picked up a double-double, tallying 13 points and grabbing a game-leading 10 rebounds. Cass Johnson, sophomore guard, was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.  Overall, the Cats posted 11 steals, two blocks, and 48 rebounds on the night. 

 

The Lady Bobcats (1-0) return to their home court on Saturday afternoon to face Kansas Wesleyan University at 2:00 pm.
