Lady Cats Win Big on the Road

Lakin SimmermanCofO women started the second round of conference play with a 92-53 victory over York College. It is the first of a five game conference road schedule. The Lady Cats held a 39-21 halftime advantage, but quickly extended that to 27 within the first three minutes of the second half.

It was a balanced scoring attack Friday night with freshman Lakin Simmerman leading the way with 18 points on 9-11 shooting from the field. Brandy Uchtman had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Hannah Wisdom also had 15 points. Maison Bovard and Jordan Graham followed with 14 points each. The Lady Cats held a commanding rebounding advantage 55-27, scored 63 points in the paint and had 50 bench points to York's 13.

The Lady Cats now hold a share of the MCAC lead along with Oklahoma Wesleyan. CofO will be in action Saturday in McPherson, KS, against Central Christian College at 3:00.
