The NAIA DII #21 ranked College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats claimed a significant victory on Friday evening as they defeated the #8 ranked College of St. Mary Flames, 79-69.
The game featured 12 lead changes, and the score remained close throughout, until at 4:55 remaining, College of the Ozarks took a five point lead and finished strong to stretch their lead to a 10-point advantage.
The Lady Bobcats had five players score in double figures, featuring sophomore guard Hannah Wisdom leading the charge with 17 points. Following close behind were Lady Cats' Kayla Kepler (15 pts.), Brandy Uchtman and Maison Bovard (14 pts.) and Lakin Simmerman (10 pts.). Kepler gathered 9 rebounds and dished 5 assists while Uchtman posted 3 blocks. Deaundra Young led the St. Mary Flames with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Friday’s victory brings the Lady Cats' record to 12-6 overall, 3-1 in the conference. College of St. Mary’s record now stands at 15-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The Lady Bobcats take the court again on Saturday afternoon as they host Waldorf College at 3 PM.
