The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats are 2-0 on the weekend. On Friday evening, the ladies jumped out to an early lead against Central Christian College, with 3 Lady ‘Cats scoring in double digits by the close of the first half (Kepler, McMenamy, and Heinzler). Junior guard Kayla Kepler of Fair Grove led the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Maggie McMenamy (15 pts/10 reb.) and Brandy Uchtman (11 pts. /10 reb.) also joined Kepler in the double-double club. Freshman Alice Heinzler hit 3 of her 4 three-point shots, Emily Walker posted 3 steals and 12 points, and the entire bench played a quarter or more contributing to the 110-35 rout. Central Christian’s leading scorer was Harley Pate with 9 points.
On Saturday, in an 89-57 victory over York College, the Lady Bobcats had 5 players post double figures in scoring. Freshman Alice Heinzler led the way with 16 points, Kayla Kepler contributed another double-double performance (10 pts, 12 reb.), and Jeana Raper came off the bench to hit four 3-pointers as the Lady Cats slam dunked another game. Zanoria Echols led the York Lady Panthers with 17 points.
Saturday's win brings the Lady Bobcats' record to 6-1 in conference play and 18-5 overall.
