The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats posted an 82-61 win over Rochester College (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon to advance to the A.I.I. Conference championship game.
The Lady Cats started the day out slowly, trailing Rochester 13-14 at the close of the first quarter. CofO made some headway in the second quarter to take a two-point lead, 30-28, into the locker room at the half. The second half saw the Lady Cat offense come alive, as they outscored the Warriors 29-14 in the 3rd and 23-19 in the 4th, to capture a 21-point victory.
The Lady Bobcats were led by Cass Johnson, who scored 23 points, going 8-fo-14 and draining 5 treys. Kelsie Cleeton picked up yet another double-double, her 17th on the season, scoring 16 points and collecting 10 rebounds. She was 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and posted a game-high 4 assists. Shelby Roberts shared the rebounding lead with Cleeton, grabbing 10 rebounds of her own.
Although Rochester shot 52% in the second half, a tough Lady Cat defense held them to only 23 shots while CofO put up 42 shots of their own, hitting 42.9%.
The Lady Bobcats, seeded #1 in the tournament, will play #2 seed Indiana University Northwest in the championship game on Sunday at 2 PM.
